Array Formula Problem Microsoft Excel Mac
Hi, I have a major problem which stemmed from when I was trying to edit/delete (I can't remember) an array formula from a single cell. I have been trying to delete the formula by selecting the whole range of cells, but Excel won't let me leave the cell in question and everything else I do (whether clicking on another cell, clearing the contents of the cell and pressing enter, trying to restore the original formula) results in the error message 'You cannot change part of an array', yet when I try to quit Excel or even log out or shut down I get 'Cannot quit Microsoft Excel'. Is this some sort of bug and have I no choice but to shut the computer down manually, which I don't like doing (fortunately I haven't done much unsaved work that this would affect)?

Explore Microsoft's NEW Dynamic Array functions in Excel and use them effectively to solve problems. Array formulas can return either multiple results, or a single result. Beginning with the September 2018 update for Microsoft 365, any formula that can return multiple results will automatically spill them either down, or across into neighboring cells. This change in behavior is also accompanied by several new dynamic array functions. Many Excel users, including me, are prejudiced against array formulas and try to get rid of them wherever possible. Luckily, Microsoft Excel has a few functions that handle array natively, and we can use one of such functions, namely SUMPRODUCT, as kind of 'wrapper' around MAX. The generic MAX IF formula without array is as follows. EWE: 'Engineering With Excel' Larsen Page 2 Key to understanding the use of matrix operations is the concept of the matrix (array) formula. Such a formula uses matrix functions and returns a result that can be a matrix, a vector, or a scalar, depending on the computations involved.
